Future apostles Andrew was always bringing in outsiders,

IN PRAISE OF DREAM MAKER

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book though it took me a few pages to get used to Haddad’s style of writing. It was different for me. The style and the arrangement of content. This book is a collection of stories about characters who Jesus met during His earthly ministry. Each story is a fleshed out version of what might have been based on the record we have in Scripture. Fleshed out in a way that adds personality and cultural flavor to each of the characters.
.
The author does a masterful job of bringing the characters to life. You will feel their pain, weep at their sorrow and joy, and yearn with them in their hopeful struggle to overcome. You will follow each character’s story as it develops along the timeline of Jesus’ sojourn on earth. Then, return back along that timeline to experience the life-changing events in the life of another character.
.
Which characters? The apostles, Jesus’ family and close friends and those He encounters along the way, some of whom He touched miraculously, dramatically changing their lives and reshaping their souls and their dreams for eternity. Dream Maker is a must-read.

When I started this book, I couldn’t stop reading it until I finished. Katheryn Maddox Haddad, who tells stories of characters who encountered Jesus, takes the reader into the minds of people we’ve always read about in the Bible. She seeks to show the motivation for the action of her characters. For example, I’d always marveled at the way Zebedee didn’t put up a fuss when Simon Peter and Andrew walked away from the fishing business to follow Jesus. Katheryn develops a logical and engaging tale about what happened to Zebedee. Every story in this book is inspiring.

I suppose it would be enjoyable to read one story each night, but as I said, I couldn’t stop once I started.

Powerful book that brings to life the people and interactions of Jesus’s early ministry. Ideal for a book club or discussion group, this skillfully written biblical fiction would combine wonderfully with a Bible study of the Gospels as well. As with her first book in this series, Star Song, Katheryn Haddad truly has a gift for opening our eyes to the historical context of Jesus’s ministry and to the reality of His life and power touching lives back then and ours today. Looking forward to the rest of the Soul Journey with Jesus [They Met Jesus] series!

Dream Maker combines Scripture and fiction to make the reader feel as if they are actually living there at the time of the Biblical happening. It’s a very interesting read and challenges you to re-read stories you thought you knew.
